Sec. 14-23. - Street name procedures.
The following procedure to be used for naming or renaming roads in the parish:
- Petition containing seventy-five (75) percent of property owners of legal age, as verified by parish records, shall be submitted to the office of the parish council. Address numbers as well as the road name may change if approved by the parish council.

During this sixty-day period, the Livingston Parish Building/Permit shall notify the appropriate fire department, post office, 911 communication district, registrar of voters office, ambulance service and the sheriff's office of the road name change. In addition, all property owners and residents must obtain a change of address application from the parish building permit office.
- If it is found that any person signing the petition does not meet the criteria contained in paragraph one in this section, petition shall become null and void. Any person who falsely signs the petition may be subject to prosecution.
- The current petition form (to be obtained from the office of the parish council) shall be executed and turned into the parish council's office before acceptance by majority vote of the parish council.
- Reserved.
- The parish council reserves the right to accept or reject any petition.
- Road names shall not exceed twenty (20) spaces and characters.
- Road must have a minimum of one addressable unit, lot or structure.
- The new street sign will not be put in place until all residents have returned the change of address form to the parish building/permit office.
