RECREATION DISTRICT NO. 8

Sec. 12-136. Created; boundaries. 

The geographic boundaries of Recreation District No. 7 [shall] be consolidated with Recreation District No. 8 and that the consolidated areas shall become the revised geographic boundaries of Recreation District No. 8 and shall comprise and embrace all of the territory within the following described boundaries: Livingston Parish Recreation District No. 8A being the combination of the old Livingston Parish Recreation District No 8 and Livingston Parish Recreation District No. 7. 

By virtue of the authority conferred by Section 4562 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, there is hereby created a recreation district within the Parish of Livingston, State of Louisiana, comprising and embracing all of that territory within the following described boundaries, to wit: Beginning at the centerline intersection of the Tickfaw River and Interstate 12, proceed in an easterly direction along said Interstate 12 centerline to its intersection with a line which is a projection of a line 300 feet west of and parallel to George White Road; thence along said line, in a southeasterly direction to the north line of Section 9, and along the north lines of Sections 10 and 11, Township 7 South, Range 6 East to the west line of Section 51, Township 7 South, Range 6 East; thence in a southerly direction along the west line of said Section 51 to the southwest corner of said section; thence in an easterly direction along the south line of Section 51 to the centerline of the Natalbany River; thence in a southeasterly direction, in and along said Natalbany River centerline, to its intersection with the aforesaid Tickfaw River; thence in and along the centerline of the said Natalbany River and continuing into Lake Maurepas; thence along Lake Maurepas to the point where said line intersects the Livingston Parish boundary line; thence southerly along the Livingston Parish boundary line to a point where said boundary line intersects an easterly projection of the centerline of the Amite River where the river said river empties into Lake Maurepas; thence westerly along the centerline of the Amite to the intersection with the centerline of Bayou Barbary; thence in a northwesterly direction along the centerline of Bayou Barbary to its intersection with the centerline of State Highway 444; thence in a northwesterly direction along the old Ward 2-Ward 4 boundary line to its intersection with the north line of Section 5, Township 8 South, Range 5 East; thence in an easterly direction along the northern line of said Section 5 and along the northerly lines of Sections 4, 3, 2, and 1, Township 8 South, Range 5 East to the centerline of the Tickfaw River; thence in a northerly direction in an along said Tickfaw River centerline to its intersection with the aforesaid Interstate 12, being the point of beginning.
