RECREATION DISTRICT NO. 5

Sec. 12-87. Generally. 

By virtue of the authority conferred by R.S. 33:4562 et seq., in Chapter 11 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, there is hereby recreated a recreation district, initially created by ordinance adopted by the police jury on May 28, 1977, within the parish, comprising and embracing all of that territory within the following described boundaries, to wit: 

Beginning on the west bank of the Tickfaw River on Township line between Township 7 and 8 South, Range 5 East, thence running west on said township line to the northwest corner of Section 5, Township 8 South, Range 5 East; thence south on the section line between Sections 5, 6, 7 and 8, Township 8 South, Range 5 East, to the northeast corner of the southeast quarter of Section 7, Township 8 South, Range 5 East; thence west on half section line of said Section 7, Township 8 South, Range 5 East to the northwest corner of southwest quarter of Section 11, Township 8 South, Range 4 East; thence north to the southeast corner of Section 3 Township 8 South, Range 4 East; thence west on section line to the southwest corner of Section 5, Township 8 South, Range 4 East; thence north to the northwest corner of Section 41, Township 7 South, Range 4 East; thence east on section line to southwest corner of Section 21, Township 7 South, Range 4 East; thence north along western section lines of sections 21, 16, 9, 4, (T7S-R4E) and section 33, 28, and 21 (T6S-R4E) to the northwest corner of Section 21 of Township 6 South, Range 4 East; thence east on section line between Sections 16 and 21, 15 and 22, to northeast corner of Section 22, Township 6 South, Range 4 East; thence north on section line between Sections 15 and 14, 10 and 11, 3 and 2, to northwest corner of Section 2, Township 6 South, Range 4 East; thence east on township line between Townships 5 and 6 to southwest corner of Section 36, Township 5 South, Range 4 East; thence north on section line between Sections 35 and 36, 26 and 25, to the northwest corner of Section 25, Township 5 South, Range 4 East; thence east on section line between Sections 40 and 25, 19 and 30 to the northeast corner of Section 30, Township 5 South, Range 5 East; thence south on section line between Sections 30 and 29, 31 and 32 to southeast corner of Section 31, Township 5 South, Range 5 East; thence east on township line between Townships 5 and 6 to half section line of Section 4, Township 6 South, Range 5 East; thence south on said half section line through Sections 4, 9, and 16 to southwest corner of the northeast 1/4 of Section 16, Township 6 South, Range 5 East; thence east on said 1/4 section line to southeast corner of the northeast 1/4 of Section 16, Township 6 South, Range 5 East; thence south on section line between Sections 16 and 15, 21 and 22, 28 and 27, 33 and 34, to the southwest corner of Section 34 Township 6 South, Range 5 East; thence east on township line between Townships 6 and 7 to the west bank of Tickfaw River; thence following the meanderings of the west bank of said Tickfaw River in a southerly direction to the point of beginning.
