RECREATION DISTRICT NO. 3

Sec. 12-53. Generally. 

By virtue of the authority conferred by R.S. 33:4562 et seq., in Chapter 11 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, there is hereby created a recreation district within the parish, comprising and embracing all of that territory within the following described boundaries, to wit: Commencing at the southeast corner of Section 15, Township 7 South, Range 3 East; thence in a westerly direction along the south line of Sections 15, 16, 39, 17 and 18, Township 7 South, Range 3 East, for approximately 3.2 miles; thence project said line in a westerly direction for approximately 2.2 miles until said line intersects with the centerline of the Amite River; thence in a northerly direction along the centerline of the Amite River for approximately 13.7 miles to a point where the projection of the south line of Section 5, Township 6 South, Range 3 East, intersects with the centerline of the Amite River; thence along said projection line in an easterly direction along the south line of Section 5 and Section 4 for approximately 1.4 miles to the northeast corner of the northwest 1/4 of Section 9, Township 6 South, Range 3 East; thence in a southerly direction along the 1/4 section line of Sections 9, 16, 21, 28 and 33, Township 6 South, Range 3 East for approximately 4.5 miles; thence continue in a southerly direction for approximately 1.5 miles to the southeast corner of the southwest 1/4 of Section 4, Township 7 South, Range 3 East; thence in an easterly direction along the south line of Section 4, Township 7 South, Range 3 East for approximately 0.5 mile to the southeast corner of said Section 4; thence in a southerly direction along the east line of Section 9, Township 7 South, Range 3 East, for approximately 1.0 mile to the southeast corner of said Section 9; thence in an easterly direction along the north line of Section 15, Township 7 South, Range 3 East for approximately 1.0 mile to the northeast corner of said Section 15; then in a southerly direction along the east line of Section 15, Township 7 South, Range 3 East for approximately 1.0 mile to the southeast corner of said Section 15, and same point being the point of commencement.
